Mark, an engineer from Canada, working as an expat in Iran, experiences the life and culture of Iran and eventually meets Farzaneh, a well-educated, pretty young woman, where they manage to conduct a romance, eventually get married, and overcome many obstacles, absurd situations and dangers along the way.
